The gallery is pleased to announce Keeping Time: Plains Indian Ledger Drawings (1865 – 1900), in collaboration with Galerie Gisela Capitain, Cologne, Germany, June 4-July 17. Galerie Gisela Capitain is a very highly regarded gallery in the contemporary art world, both in Germany and internationally. Their interest in Plains Indian drawings is further evidence of the growing interest in this little known but highly important aspect of American art history. The exhibition will feature a remarkable group of approximately 70 drawings from the latter part of the 19th century. The exhibition will also feature a small group of objects that help conceptualise ledger drawings.
